If I were my best self, I'd start every day feeling super well-rested, emptying the dishwasher in my spotless sunny kitchen, working out in the clothes I set out the night before, and breakfasting on steel cut oats and berries while I group-text my girlfriends something totally witty and hilarious.
IRL, I'm probably way exhausted from a hard night of binging Game of Thrones episodes that I've already seen because I don't understand who that guy is, and refreshing my Instagram to see how many of my six followers didn't like the pic of a hunk of lemon in my Pellegrino that I spent like an hour on.
Really, the best I can hope for is that when I plop down at my laptop to actually do something with my life, I find some inspiration from these overachievers:
I once watched an ENTIRE season of The Bachelorette, and I can't even hate myself for it because it Introduced me to this lady, Jillian Harris. Fashion, interior design, recipes, and relationships; I've only just now realized that she's basically everything I want to be (if I can't be Karen Walker).
Sarah Von Bargen at Yes and Yes is your world-traveling, positivity oozing, app-creating internet BFF. Y&Y treats you to daily content like True Story interviews and Sunday's Web Time Wasters. On more than one occasion, I have tricked SVB into letting me into her presence while we eat carbs / drink coffee, and even in real life, she is Actually That Lovely.
I've been a fan of Ezra Klein since his Wonkblog days at the Washington Post. Making me feel like an underachiever, at 30 years old he's now editor-in-chief of Vox, which I obsessively refresh during election years.
Stephanie Klein of Greek Tragedy had me hooked from the first page of Straight Up and Dirty, a memoir of her marriage to a massive asshole. Stuff like THIS and her almost-poetic dating/mating advice were basically my single-girl bible back in the day.
Finally, Wendy of Wendy's Lookbook is still my favorite fashion blogger.
